Jenna R. Wright-
Counselor
Jenna graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Cultural
Anthropology in 1998. As a student she had the opportunity
to expand her cultural horizons, studying in Kenya for
a semester, and completing an independent study in international
aid organizations and health services. After college,
Jenna volunteered for AmeriCorps VISTA. As a VISTA volunteer
she acted as an outreach worker and program developer
at a health clinic for migrant farm workers. After completing
her volunteer term, Jenna began working as a Counselor
in a residential treatment program for adults with disabilities.
In this position she expanded her skill-base to include
treatment planning, assessment, crisis management, skill
building for independent living, medication administration,
and vocational and educational planning.
Currently, Jenna is pursuing a Master's
of Social Work degree, with a clinical focus, at Boston
College. As part of her clinical training at Boston
College, she has been interning as a substance abuse
counselor, gaining valuable clinical practice about
a problem that negatively impacts the lives of many
people. Throughout her schooling and career, Jenna has
always had a strong commitment to ensuring that disadvantaged
or marginalized people have access to comprehensive
social services.
