Stacey Edwards
- Clinician
Prior to receiving her Master's degree, Stacey worked
in various direct care positions with adults with chronic
mental illness. These positions included case management,
vocational coaching, crisis prevention, and resident
supervision. Stacey worked for four years as the Program
Coordinator for both residential and outreach services
for seventeen adults with psychiatric disabilities.
While working in this position, Stacey completed her
Master's degree in Social Work from Boston College.
As part of her clinical training, Stacey interned at
Bridgewater Correctional Facility as an individual and
group therapist and also at the Brockton Verteran's
Administration Hospital providing individual therapy
to homeless substance abusing veterans in a six-month
recovery program.
Since receiving her Master's Degree in
May of 2003, Stacey has held a clinical position providing
discharge planning and supporting and counseling terminally
ill patients and their families on the Transitional
Care Unit within the Nursing Home Unit at the Brockton
VA Hospital. Stacey is also involved with the Boston
VA Healthcare System's guardianship team. Comprised
of social workers, doctors, lawyers, and hospital administrators;
the team's primary purpose is to develop a quick and
efficient means for incompetent veterans to protect
their best interests through the establishment of a
guardianship.
